Finzer Roller Acquires Roll Manufacturer S.I. Industries

Des Plaines, IL, November 18, 2013 – Finzer Roller today announced that it purchased the assets of roll manufacturer S.I. Industries, Inc., of Blaine, MN, on Oct. 31 of this year. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

S.I. Industries produces rubber, urethane and silicone rollers used in a variety of industries including printing, packaging and various industrial applications. The company also manufactures molded rubber goods and has a machine shop to do in-house core repairs and new core construction. The acquisition included S.I. Industries’ two manufacturing locations in Blaine, Minnesota (near Minneapolis) and in Commerce City, Colorado (near Denver).

Founded by Jim Marciniak, S.I. had 26 employees at the time of the purchase. Marciniak has retired, and all remaining employees have been hired by Finzer Roller.

“The acquisition of S.I. expands Finzer’s geographic footprint in the United States, giving us the unique ability to provide customers like-kind, high-quality roller coverings regardless of their manufacturing location in the US,” said Finzer Roller CEO John Finzer.

S.I. products and services are consistent with Finzer Roller’s capabilities, and Finzer Roller intends to further increase the manufacturing capabilities of the Colorado and Minnesota locations.

With the acquisition of S.I. Industries, Finzer Roller now has 10 manufacturing locations in the US, plus a strategic alliance with Imperial Rubber Products, Inc. of Chino, California, which allows them to service customers across the country with uniform products, quality procedures, service, and pricing.

Founded in 1968, Finzer Roller is a one-stop resource for rubber rollers and specialty coatings, including steel roller cores, replacement rubber coverings and peripheral products. The company services the film and foil packaging, corrugated box, wood, wood finishing, metal, graphic arts and other precision application industries. Headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, Finzer maintains manufacturing and sales facilities in Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania, and supports customers in western U.S. states in collaboration with a strategic alliance partner, Imperial Rubber Products in California.
