Finzer Roller Announces Ultra-Can for Rollers on Coaters

CHICAGO, January 11, 2011 – Finzer Roller today announced that it has developed a rubber compound for rollers on coaters, which delivers improved performance compared to alternative compounds previously available.

Called Ultra-Can, the compound is suitable for both inker and coater rollers in the two-piece and three-piece canmaking industries.

The product was developing following the appearance of a gap in the market.

“Finzer Roller started developing the Ultra-Can compound in response to EI DuPont's announcement that they were shutting down their Hypalon manufacturing, which was one of the rubber compounds used by many metal decorators,” stated Randy Apperson, Director of Sales for Finzer Roller. "Field tests have shown extended run times between roller change-outs, which over time will reduce the cost per roller."

Founded in 1968, Finzer Roller is a one-stop resource for rubber rollers and specialty coatings, including steel roller cores, replacement rubber coverings and peripheral products. The company services the film and foil packaging, corrugated box, wood, wood finishing, metal, graphic arts and other precision application industries. Headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, Finzer maintains manufacturing and sales in Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
